Job Summary

The CT Technologist Flex B agrees to float within assigned hospitals throughout Corewell Health East (Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak, Troy). This position is scheduled and reports to the Corewell Health East Flex Office located at Beaumont Service Center.Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection. Essential Functions

  Verifies patient identification and physician order.

  n

• n

  Provides procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.

  n

• n

  Acquires an accurate patient history and documents in the medical record.

  n
n
• n

  Performs CT and related patient care procedures using age appropriate methods for patient’s physical ability and/or limitations.

  n

• n

  Places IV’s as required for injection of contrast media.

  n
n
• n

  Proficiently operates CT imaging equipment and performs necessary quality control and quality assurance testing.

• n

  Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.

  n
n
• n

  Ensures STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner.

  n

• n

  Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.

• n

  Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules and sending information to PAC’s.

• n

  Use effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participates with medical staff, management, technical and support staff.

Qualifications

n
• n

  Required Associate's Degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.

  n

• n

  1 year of relevant experience clinical experience. Must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in CT technology essential duties eligible for floating Required

  CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required

  n

• n

  CRT-Computerized Tomography (CT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Excludes team members hired prior to 2008. 1 Year required

  CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or

  CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
