Construction Controller

We are seeking a Controller to lead financial operations across both corporate and project-level accounting. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic growth initiatives, managing audits, and ensuring financial compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on accounting experience, leadership skills, and construction industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial operations for both corporate and project-level accounting.
• Support strategic growth initiatives and manage audits ensuring financial compliance.
• Prepare documentation and lead audit readiness twice annually.
• Directly manage accounting personnel with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure financial compliance with quarterly reporting tied to loan agreements.
• Handle payroll, ERP systems, multi-state tax preparation, and Excel data entry.
• Collaborate with ownership and leadership on strategic financial initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in construction accounting, financial planning, and analysis.
• Strong leadership development and compliance skills.
• Experience with internal control and audit preparation.
• Proficiency with budgeting and forecasting for both project and corporate focus.
• Experience with Viewpoint and other ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 23 years in a controller role within construction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $57.69/hr.
