About the Opportunity

A well-established and financially stable organization in Simsbury, CT is seeking an experienced Controller to step into a leadership role within its accounting department. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on financial clean-up, oversight, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to resolving discrepancies and streamlining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial clean-up efforts, including identifying and resolving duplicate payments and coding errors
• Oversee expense and revenue coding, and manage profit & loss (P&L) reporting
• Diagnose accounting issues and implement effective solutions
• Supervise and support the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and accountability
• Maintain and improve general ledger integrity and month-end close processes
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Ability to manage and mentor staff effectively
• Demonstrated success in identifying and solving accounting issues

Preferred Skills

• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience in financial operations within small to mid-sized organizations

Work Environment

• Standard office setting in Simsbury, CT
• Full-time, on-site presence required

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
