Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Fully On-Site | Southern Litchfield County
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (35-hour work week)
Salary: Up to $150,000 + Comp Time for Evening Meetings (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities of the CFO:

• Oversee all accounting, budgeting, and fiscal service functions for the town.
• Lead the full budgeting process from start to finish.
• Serve as Treasurer for town trust funds and manage cash flow, investments, and debt.
• Ensure accurate general ledger accounts and maintain compliance with GAAP and GASB standards.
• Prepare financial reports for boards, auditors, and state/federal agencies.
• Direct and coordinate debt management functions, including financial analysis and long-range planning.
• Supervise Fiscal Office staff, ensuring professional development and accountability.
• Support IT and financial systems, including oversight of purchases and contracts.

Qualifications for the CFO:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA strongly preferred but not required.
• Prior experience as a CFO, Comptroller, or similar senior financial leadership role.
• Municipal experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
