Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking five skilled Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. This role involves compounding testosterone formulations with a seed oil base, GLP1s, and cyclosporine, while maintaining a clean and organized compounding environment as required by USP <797>. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our pharmaceutical products.

Responsibilities

• Compound sterile preparations, including testosterone formulations with a seed oil base, GLP1s, and cyclosporine.
• Maintain a clean and organized compounding environment, adhering to USP <797> standards.
• Accurately document all compounding activities, including batch records, cleaning logs, and quality control checks.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving, labeling, and storing compounding materials and supplies.

Essential Skills

• Experience in sterile compounding.
• Understanding of USP <797> compliance.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred.
• Registration in Tennessee preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience preferred, but candidates with 1-2 years of experience will also be considered.
• Hospital experience is preferred but not required.
• IV compounding experience is a plus.
• Leadership ability or interest in leadership opportunities is a plus.
• Compounding experience with multiple drugs is preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced environment with a first shift schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our facility currently has six pharmacists on staff, with a total staff of 30. The pharmacy spans 5,000 square feet, with a 4,000-square-foot expansion underway. We currently have six compounding hoods, with plans to add eight more. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
