Commercial Driver

Bay Disposal is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver to join our dynamic team at our Hauling location in Hampton, VA .

Your previous experience in the waste industry will give you a great advantage!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes for solid waste collection. Previous waste experience preferred , but not required.

• Follow route sheets and efficiently service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

• Perform physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading, often independently.

• Utilize hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of it at designated facilities.

• Engage courteously with customers and complete other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• This position involves extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment may involve exposure to physical risks from moving mechanical parts, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions.

• Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and may frequently work in wet and/or humid environments, with additional exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise levels are typically moderate.
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement.

• At least 2 years of work experience with a stable employment history, ideally within a driving role.

• Able to lift 50+ pounds.

• Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
