Cloud-Native NMS Architect

Overview

This role is focused on architecting a cloud-native Network Management System (NMS) and data analytics platform for satellite communications (Satcom). You’ll lead the design of scalable, secure, and standards-compliant systems that manage Satcom ground infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies and OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) principles.

Responsibilities

• Architect cloud-native applications for Satcom NMS and analytics platforms.
• Design OAM functionalities including fault, configuration, and event management.
• Define secure communication, storage, and access control mechanisms.
• Lead integration of observability and monitoring tools into the platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system architecture with business goals.
• Guide proof-of-concept development and tooling as needed.
• Ensure scalability to support 100k+ terminals and multi-tenancy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications.
• Deep understanding of OAM/NMS/EMS systems and standards (e.g., NETCONF/YANG).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Fluentd).
• Background in software development (C++, Python, Golang) and data modeling (UML/SysML acceptable).
