Key Position Details:

• Performs laboratory functions such as waived testing, assisting with standard operating procedure and workflow. Supports one or more of the following work areas: laboratory reception/registration, specimen collection (i.e. venipuncture, capillary, cultures, and chain of custody); processing of specimens, and supply ordering. Training for lab testing is provided. Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Full time position
• 8-hour, day shifts
• No weekends

Job Description:

Provides support to the clinical team, providers and patients to deliver timely and quality health care services for optimal service and care. Principle responsibilities include:

• Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks.
• Cleans, prepares, organizes and re-stocks clinical areas and maintains supplies.
• Clinical safety support.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent for positions utilizing i-STAT testing
• Healthcare, patient care, electronic medical records, or medical terminology experience
• Phlebotomy experience only for sites where laboratory duties are performed

Licenses/Certifications:

• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Physical Demands:

• Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $18.09 to $24.64 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
