Position Summary:
The Claims Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of workers' compensation claims, acting as a key resource for employees, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with insurance providers and medical professionals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution and settlement.
- Act as the main point of contact for employees, providing guidance on WC benefits, claims forms, and policies.
- Facilitate communication among injured employees, medical providers, insurance carriers, and various stakeholders to enhance claim processing.
- Analyze claims data to spot trends in frequency, severity, and costs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and internal policies.
- Support accident investigations, provide training on incident reporting, and help promote workplace safety.
- Maintain professional relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and service providers.
- Develop and maintain systems for tracking claims data effectively.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant combination of education, training, and experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in Workers' Compensation or Safety.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, and claims management software.
- Must be authorized to work in the country without sponsorship.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:
- Experience in multi-state claims management.
- Knowledge of claims management processes in Canada.
- Familiarity with EHS KPIs.

Travel Requirements: Occasional overnight travel may be required (1-10%).
Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements: Non-standard hours may be required (exempt).
Physical Requirements: The role consists primarily of sitting, typing, and communicating, with occasional standing and walking. Physical exertion is minimal.
