Civil Engineer/Civil Designer Opportunity

We have an opening for a Civil Engineer/Civil Designer in Decatur, GA. The focus of this role will be land development - grading, hydrology, stormwater, etc. The areas will include: water/sewer design, water quality, storm drainage, street design, and more.

Job Expectations:

• Serves as a liaison with clients and agencies critical to the successful completion of our projects.
• Has full technical responsibility to organize, execute, interpret and coordinate assignments.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs several large, important projects at any given time.
• Acts independently to anticipate challenges, troubleshoot, consult with senior staffers and ensure project success.

Job Duties:

• Design in Civil 3D
• Review geotechnical, environmental, and transportation reports to identify engineering problems and assess the possible impact to projects
• Compute water and sewer flow rates, grading requirements, hydrologic run-off rates, and hydraulic capacities of pipes and swales
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, labor, or equipment to determine project feasibility
• Inspect and monitor each project's progress and ensure conformance to design specifications
• Prepare or present project deliverables, such as drawing packages, specifications, drainage reports, utility studies plats, and bid proposals to client or agency with jurisdiction over the project
• Provide technical advice regarding construction and design
• Keep informed of new scientific methods and developments affecting engineering design
• Plan and design projects following construction and governmental standards, using design software and AutoCAD Civil 3D

Required:

• Prefer someone with 5+ years' experience at minimum but will look at and consider minimum 2 year candidates
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred but will consider Designers as well if experience suffices
• Civil Site Design experience
• Civil 3D is a must
