Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a vital member of the care team, delivering compassionate and resident-centered care during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), you will provide essential assistance to residents in daily living activities and contribute positively to their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver age-appropriate care based on residents' physical and psychological needs as outlined in their care plans.
• Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
• Monitor and record vital signs, and report any changes to the charge nurse.
• Support residents in mobility and exercise routines, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Facilitate a positive dining experience by assisting with meals, snacks, and hydration.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in living areas through housekeeping and laundry services.
• Engage residents in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging their participation and enjoyment.
• Document care provided and interactions with residents, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Contribute to team efforts by participating in departmental committees and task forces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
• Minimum age of 16 years. Previous nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required within four months of employment, with training provided by the facility.
• Complete yearly competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (at least 12 hours annually).
• Valid driver's license may be required for specific tasks.
