The Certified Medical Assistant II provides vital clinical and administrative support to our healthcare team in an outpatient clinic. This role works under the supervision of providers while assisting with patient care activities and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform patient rooming and intake processes, including collecting data such as vital signs, height, weight, and patient history.
2. Assist providers during treatments, examinations, and procedures.
3. Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed.
4. Administer medications and perform tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under a provider's direction.
5. Ensure examination rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and educational materials.
6. Provide follow-up instructions and educational materials to patients as directed.
7. Assist with patient registration, check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
8. Answer clinic phone calls and assist with in-basket management.
9. Support emergency situations as directed by healthcare professionals.
10. Additional responsibilities may include training new hires, maintaining preventive health measures for patients, compliance audits, and managing supply orders.

Education Requirements:

• No specific educational requirements; however, completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Certification required from recognized bodies (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NRCMA, or NCMA).
• Basic Life Support Certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Professional Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Demonstrated competencies relevant to the role during application and interview process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage positively with patients and work collaboratively with staff.
• Proficient in using a computer for documentation in electronic medical records.
