CDL Waste Collection Driver

El Dorado Disposal , a Waste Connections company, is actively seeking a safety-oriented CDL Driver to join our dynamic team! This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Starting pay is $27.00 per hour. The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $32.00 per hour.

The work schedule is Monday-Friday starting at either 3:30am or 4:30am , depending on the specific line of business (e.g., Commercial, Residential, Roll-Off). Occasional Saturday shifts may be required. This is a full-time position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate a garbage truck along designated routes to collect solid waste. Previous waste experience is preferred but not required.

• Follow route sheets and service each customer as assigned by the dispatcher.

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.

• Perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading, often without assistance.

• Utilize hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at specified facilities.

• Engage courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.

• Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions.

• Work outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions, fumes, and vibrations; noise levels are usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections.
