CDL Equipment Operator and HAZMAT Driver

Clean Harbors is seeking a CDL Equipment Operator and HAZMAT Driver to join our team. In this role, you will operate various heavy and light-duty trucks and equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, guzzlers, and roll-offs. You will play a crucial role in hazardous waste clean-up, performing both driving and support duties.

This position will involve travel initially as we establish our business in the region. All new hires will attend a two-week Academy training out of state, with expenses covered by the company, as it is paid training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices and procedures.
• Operate commercial trucks while assisting field laborers in a team environment.
• Handle a range of Class A trucks.
• Manage the loading and unloading of trucks.
• Perform manual labor on-site to meet customer needs.
• Ensure proper placarding of vehicles to align with company and DOT regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and various reports.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles according to U.S. DOT and corporate guidelines.
• Adhere to all company environmental health and safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency responses on a rotating basis.
• Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials handling as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid CDL.
• Active HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Proficient with various mobile devices.
• Capable of performing physical tasks as required.
• Pass background check, drug test, and physical examination based on position requirements.
• Meet facial hair standards as per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial driving experience.
• Experience handling HAZMAT materials.
• Prior experience in manual labor roles.
