Cadworx Designer

Experienced Cadworx Designer

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced Cadworx Designer for our Natural Gas team in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

1. Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations
2. Develop intelligent 3D models of piping, steel, and equipment layouts using CADWorx and AutoCAD Plant 3D
3. Generate PFDs, P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and modular skid designs
4. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and industry standards
5. Perform design reviews and redlining using CADWorx Design Review Professional
6. Maintain drawing/database connectivity and ensure synchronization between project databases and drawings
7. Identify and resolve potential design conflicts, including utility clashes and installation constraints
8. Perform quality control checks and provide feedback to team members
9. Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
10. Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
11. Maintains drawing database
12. May supervise and train CAD staff
13. Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

• High School Degree (Preferred Associates Degree (or higher) with emphasis on Drafting and Design Technology from an accredited technical institution or college in engineering)
• 3+ years experience in Cadworx Plant Professional for piping and equipment modeling
• Must be proficient in using AutoCAD and Bluebeam
• Strong understanding of piping layout standards and construction practices
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and tasks
• Experience in creating CAD tools and symbol databases
