We are seeking a Temporary Buyer to support our indirect purchasing operations during a maternity leave. This role involves managing purchase orders, coordinating transportation, and working within ERP systems such as D365 and AS400. The ideal candidate will possess over 2 years of experience in procurement, have strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This short-term contract role is available for an immediate start with an expected end date in late October or early November.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders and coordinate transportation logistics.
- Work efficiently within ERP systems, primarily D365 and AS400.
- Handle indirect spend categories, including office supplies, services, and logistics.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple priorities.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (D365 preferred, AS400 experience helpful).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in covering temporary roles or transitions.
- Understanding of transportation logistics and freight coordination.
- Ability to analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Familiarity with contract terms, compliance, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in data entry.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage vendor relationships.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Deerfield, FL, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. You will report to the Director of Transportation. The team culture is collaborative, responsive, and focused on achieving operational excellence.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
