Business Development Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive Business Development Engineer to support our sales team in crafting compelling proposals, generating new leads, and building strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create persuasive proposals and marketing presentations, coordinating internal resources effectively.
• Research and identify qualified target areas, projects, and clients.
• Generate new sales leads through cold calling, market research, and active participation in industry events.
• Maintain and track a comprehensive list of local opportunities.
• Assist operational sales teams (Account Executives, Market Directors, etc.) in achieving their goals.
• Review Owner contracts preliminarily and manage CRM processes, including Proposal and Contract Authorizations.
• Conduct client follow-ups and maintain relationships with leads.
• Participate in contract reviews and collaborate with Marketing on proposals.
• Ensure adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
• May provide supervision to other Business Development Engineers.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with at least three years of construction industry experience is required. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of commercial construction, preferably with field experience or in preconstruction. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate initiative, leadership, and independent thinking in a collaborative team environment, with strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with advanced presentation and sales skills, are essential. Flexibility to attend early morning and late evening meetings/networking events is required.

Physical Demands: This role requires physical capability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs, using construction personnel hoists, and operating ladders. Candidates should possess visual acuity for tasks requiring depth perception and focus adjustments. This position may require lifting and/or moving items up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: This position involves regular on-site work at construction locations, where exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions is common. Noise levels at the site may range from moderate to very loud.
