Business Continuity Analyst - Corporate Security (Kansas City)

The Business Continuity Analyst will collaborate with department management and subject matter experts to implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions. This opportunity will be an in-office position at our World Headquarters in Kansas City location plus travel.

The Business Continuity Analyst is responsible for creating, maintaining and testing the Company's business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management programs. The Business Continuity Analyst will support all current and future office location(s) business plan activities necessary to enable the Organization to manage a crisis event as well as meet compliance requirements for business continuity planning. The position's primary goals will be to identify, document and test business needs against the company infrastructure and identify response and recovery strategies and gaps.

• Develops and maintains business continuity plans and procedures; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols.

• Conducts business impact analyses for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and other disruptions.

• Collaborates with IT staff to develop, document, and implement disaster recovery plans to protect and restore data and systems in the event of natural disasters, viruses, and cyber incidents.

• Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part or all of the physical and/or digital infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.

• Creates and facilitates practice drills and tabletop exercises for plan execution.

• Develops and provides staff training on business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery.

• Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives and convey business needs/expectations.

• Support department leadership in aligning all BCP planning, initiatives and goals with Organizational goals and Infrastructure capabilities.

• Identify and make recommendations for change and adaptation to meet the needs of the business.

• Identify and make recommendations for solutions to infrastructure obstacles and business challenges.

• Protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the business recovery and disaster recovery plans.

• Maintain Business Continuity management platform database (BCiC).

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, emergency management, or related field from accredited program.

• Minimum 4 years' experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, or a related field.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

• Experience communicating at all levels of the organization.

• Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with mass notification tools and processes preferred.

• Any of the following certifications are a plus: CBCP, ISO, FEMA, MBCP, PMP, BCI, DRII, MBCI, CEM, AEM
