In this position...

n

Ford is investing over 50 billion to build state-of-the art manufacturing facilities in US and Eu to manufacture an exciting portfolio of EV vehicles. State of the art technologies and processes for Battery cell, arrays and packs form a core of our competitive leadership strategy. Working with strong team of battery cell technology partners we are building brand-new mega manufacturing facilities and will leverage Ford's 100+years of automobile manufacturing expertise and will be among the largest cell manufacturing campuses in U.S. Like the iconic Rouge complex in Michigan did a century earlier. Ford has selected to partner with global partners for their Battery expertise, these facilities under construction now and others in time will usher in a new era for American manufacturing.

What you'll do...

n
    n
  • n

    Develop manufacturing process: lead, engineer line layouts and Implement the Battery Manufacturing processes and launch manufacturing facilities. Processes specific to electrode (mixing, coat, press, slit).

  • n

    Lead simultaneous engineering with Product, Purchasing and Suppliers to deliver manufacturing feasibility: Drive design for manufacturability for new Cell and Module products.

  • n

    Work closely with OEM's in the design of manufacturing equipment, process and tooling

    n
  • n
  • n

    Collaborate with automation and other technology partners to develop competitive solutions for productivity Understand and own ROI.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Lead development of Quality methods including process failure mode and analysis (PFMEA), associated gauging requirements and inspection methods. Deliver a Control plan per the quality strategy.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Develop Assembly system solutions including workstation requirements (work content, automated versus manual, buffering strategy, redundancy requirements, etc.)

  • n
  • n

    Define Cycle time / OEE and other performance target with industrial engineering to develop optimal operating and labor strategies.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Define equipment acceptance criteria including duration, target results, and quality inspection plan.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Manage schedule and budget.

  • n
  • n

    Track and own change management to deliver Quality / Cost and Timing

    n
  • n
  • n

    Lead equipment installation and coordinate with building and utilities team

    n
  • n
  • n

    Lead on site equipment buyoff per acceptance procedures

    n
  • n
  • n

    Support plant operations to achieve System performance objectives OEE, Cycle time / JPH et all

    n
  • n
  • n

    Enable successful process and system transition to plant operations.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Provide relevant process documentation (drawings, PM plans, spare parts, training manuals etc

    n
  • n
  • n

    Create and document detailed Manufacturing process know for new technologies and methods.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Provide plant assistance to support launch requests and extraordinary needs w/existing cell suppliers.

You'll have...

n
    n
  • n

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Chemical)

    n
  • n
  • n

    3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or project management, specifically leading the implementation and launch of new production lines.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Proven understanding of fundamental manufacturing principles, including process flow, line balancing, cycle time analysis, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

    n
  • n
  • n

    Practical experience in developing and applying quality methodologies such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software for layout and workstation design, coupled with strong project management skills including budget, schedule, and cross-functional team leadership.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Travel and mobility with short term relocation / ability to work remote is key.

    Master's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Chemical)

    5+ yers of experience in manufacturing engineering or project management

    n
  • n
  • n

    Direct experience in Battery (Cell or Module) manufacturing processes, particularly electrode manufacturing, or significant experience within the automotive sector.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Strong background in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), advanced automation, robotics, and manufacturing simulation tools.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Demonstrated experience in defining and executing equipment acceptance criteria (e.g., FAT/SAT), along with a deep understanding of mechanical design principles including tolerance stack-up.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Proven ability to lead large-scale capital projects and conduct Return on Investment (ROI) analyses for manufacturing technology and process improvements.
