Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. Registry/Per Diem positions are utilized as needed within our facilities. These positions are a great way to start your career with Banner Health. At Banner, we are building our Culinary and Nutrition Services team with a high performing, close knit and diverse group of individuals who take pride in providing our patients and staff with spectacular service. As a part of our Culinary team, as a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for providing service and assistance to patients, staff and other customers in accordance with established dietary and retail cafe policies and procedures. Some of the additional duties as a Food Service Worker is the cleaning of the kitchen and dining room and dishwashing throughout your day. You will be cross trained to many of the areas in the kitchen, including barista, cashier, tray line, dishwashing, and other back of the house and front of house duties, ensuring we keep up with the process flow. You will assist with food prep, unbox foods and supplies, lifting and carrying boxes from storage and ensure shelves are restocked.

This will be an assignment based position.

Shift: Varied shifts: 10:00am to 6:30pm, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, 4:00pm to 12:30pm and 6:00am to 2:30pm

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes; employment, criminal and education) is required.

POSITION SUMMARY This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.

CORE FUNCTIONS

• Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
• Stores, counts, deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
• Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times.
• Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
• May perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.

This position is in contact with patients, other food service department personnel, hospital staff, visitors and families. This position must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively. Good reading, writing and math skills. Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system, beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.

For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire. For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado, the food handlers' card is not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
