Associate Technical Designer
The Associate Technical Designer is responsible for supporting the Senior Technical Designer throughout the fit approval process. This position supports the Wholesale Apparel business.
The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming samples, measure garments, and review sample details in preparation for fittings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on style and fit approval process while adhering to the pre-production timeline
- Assist with fittings and manage the fit approval process with the Senior Technical Designer
- Communicate clear direction to overseas offices and factories through written reports, sketches, and/or pattern corrections
- Maintain fit consistency throughout the product categories
- Issue grading to vendors after fit approval
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- College degree in Technical Design, Pattern Making or Fashion Design
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Technical Design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience working with overseas vendors
- Knowledge of fit, patternmaking, garment construction, and fabrications
- Superior organizational and time-management skills
- Self-starter with ability to work effectively as a team player
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload and tasks
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70,000-$75,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
