Job Title: Assoc, Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer. Successful candidates will be members of a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, cross-functional hardware design and analysis team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  Electromechanical packaging, design, analysis, and test for harsh and rugged environments

  n

• n

  Modification of existing and/or creation of new designs including racks, shelters, enclosures, airborne, shipborne, and rack-mount chassis, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs)

  Ensure new designs progress according to technical objectives, within budgetary and schedule constraints

  n
n
• n

  Assist in specification creation, the proposal process, and presentations to customers or management

  n
n

Qualifications

n
• n

  To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

  n

• n

  Proficient in CAD and drafting standards, or 2+ years relevant experience. (Siemens' NX, preferred.)

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge with FEA theory and application for thermal and structural anlaysis of electronics. (ANSYS experience preferred)

  n
n
• n

  Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) are necessary.

  n
n
• n

  Experience with environmental testing, ie. shock, random vibration, temperature/altitude, Environmental Stress Screening (ESS).

  n

• n

  Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and ASME drawing practices and standards.

  n

• n

  Proficient with electronics cooling methods and strong background in heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation) applied to electronics packaging and reliability

  n

• n

  Design experience with Open Standards: VITA, VME, PMC and mixed signal board design (RF and Digital) is preferred

  n

• n

  Experience with additive and traditional manufacturing methods is a must.

• n

  Must be available to work overtime and weekends when required

  n

• n

  Strong work ethic; maintain a sense of urgency to ensure obligations are met
