PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: Performs skilled mechanical work in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of nuclear power plant equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Inspects and repairs turbines, heat exchangers, pumps fans, and similar equipment.
• Aligns and balances rotating equipment.
• May set up and operate lathes, milling machines, shapers, drill presses and other machine tools in the performance of machine work to close tolerances.
• Assists other maintenance and modifications crews.
• Performs emergency response duties as assigned.
• To be assigned as needed to support decon, housekeeping, painting, calibration, tool room work and other duties as assigned by the Company.
• Provides training and oversight to other personnel.
• This position requires completion of a Mechanic qualification book.
