Associate Gift Officer

As the sole fundraising arm of UPMC Children's Hospital, we support their vision of being the world leader in pediatric health care, education and discovery.

The Children's Hospital Foundation is hiring an Associate Gift Officer who will focus on fundraising from individuals, families, and family foundations capable of making contributions between $50,000 and $1 million. This role involves building a portfolio of 100-150 potential donors. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, the goal is to secure commitments of $25,000 and above within 18 months, aiming for an annual fundraising goal of $1.25 million.

This position offers a hybrid schedule once training is complete. Regional and occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships to generate significant philanthropic support.
• Develop tailored strategies for prospects and donors.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and research staff.
• Maintain detailed records in Raisers Edge.
• Ensure prompt gift processing and recognition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, marketing, sales, business or related field required.
• 4-6 years of experience in a non-profit setting preferred; or experience in sales, marketing and communication in the for-profit environment.
• Experience in a health care setting preferred; experience in an academic medical center desired.
• A track record of securing major gifts from identification through cultivation and solicitation preferred.
• Knowledge of Raiser's Edge donor tracking software preferred.
