Associate Chemist (Entry)

Associate Scientist

Join our dynamic formulation and delivery team, working closely with research scientists to develop next-generation herbicide products and support research and development activities, as well as some commercially launched products. You will evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances to investigate their applications in formulated products.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with research scientists in developing herbicide products.
• Evaluate chemical and physical properties of substances for product applications.
• Record all laboratory tasks, procedures, and findings in an electronic laboratory notebook system.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and basic lab techniques.
• Utilize equipment such as pH meters, mixers/agitators, homogenizers, and milling equipment.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the field or a related area.
• Hands-on lab experience and a keen interest in lab work.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Rheometer and interfacial measurement experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in chemistry/chemical engineering principles, including mass-balance calculations.
• Some industrial experience in formulation development preferred, such as with pesticides, foods, cosmetics, consumer products, or paints and coatings.

Work Environment:

The role requires working under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Interviews will be conducted onsite at the Chesterfield, MO site. The position involves working with various lab equipment and following pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
