Assembly Trainee Opportunity

Join our Assembly Training Program designed to transform candidates into skilled assemblers over a 6-month period. This comprehensive program includes classroom training, shadowing, and hands on training aimed at equipping you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in assembly work. All positions are day shift, providing a consistent work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured 6-month training program with classroom learning in the first week.
• Shadow experienced employees across various departments in the second week.
• Engage in hands-on work starting in the third week, gaining experience in sealing, coating, and assembly.
• Learn to read blueprints and use tools specific to the assembly tasks.
• Complete checkpoints to ensure progress and skill acquisition.
• Assemble shelters and sub-assemblies, often working in pairs or small teams.
• Operate machinery and perform inspections to maintain quality standards.
• Work with a focus on safety, especially when handling hazardous materials.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of math.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
• Familiarity with blueprints and mechanical assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with machine operation, forklift, and welding.
• Capability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work shifts include 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The facility is large, not climate-controlled, and moderately loud. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and long work pants. Work with a team in an organized setting with well-labeled departments, accommodating 4-8 people per cell.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of Dallastown, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75/hr.
