Architect

The role requires a technically proficient architect who can review construction documents for accuracy, manage the permitting process, and coordinate projects with consultants and vendors. The position involves leading project teams, maintaining client relationships, and managing financial aspects of projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and mark corrections on construction documents for accuracy and quality.
• Identify, research, and develop solutions for technical and design challenges.
• Perform code research to ensure compliance with necessary codes.
• Manage the entire permitting process and coordinate with project consultants and vendors.
• Perform site observations and prepare reports.
• Manage the construction administration phase, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both speech and writing.
• Write reports and memos to issue changes and track resolutions.
• Review and redline completed reports, plans, and calculations.
• Participate in project reviews regarding costs, budgets, and adherence to schedule.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
• Lead projects, set priorities, and assign tasks.
• Mentor, train, and coordinate the work of teammates.
• Ensure design and quality control reviews occur at designated stages.
• Coordinate professional service contracts and maintain client relationships.
• Participate in client relationship meetings.
• Understand project schedule, scope changes, budget, and participate in monthly billing.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in producing a full set of construction documents in Revit.
• Experience managing commercial architecture projects independently.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, architecture, construction administration, project management, drafting, and schematic design.
• Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, B.Arch, or M.Arch.
• 4-10 years of experience in documentation, project management, and people management support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting SD, the person, and CD phases.
• Prior experience in leading construction administration.
• Experience working on retail/restaurant projects.
• Ability to produce full construction document sets in Revit.
• Licensed Architect.

Work Environment

The work environment is characterized by a large company with small team settings, offering a hybrid work model with two in-office days (Tuesday and Wednesday) and occasional Thursday attendance. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $37.50/hr.
