Aisles Online Clerk

Responsible for completing supplementary tasks to aid in providing the best service possible to our online shoppers. Handles tasks such as bagging, organizing, tendering, and gathering online orders.

Accountable and reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, Health Wellness Home; Online Shopping Department Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, selecting, scanning, and bagging items, tendering customer orders, ensuring products maintain proper temperature, and adhering to company policies.

Secondary duties and responsibilities include lifting, carrying, and loading groceries into customer vehicles, monitoring incoming online orders, and performing other job-related duties and special projects.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include commitment to the Hy-Vee mission, good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to identify problems and develop solutions, and the ability to work independently.

Education and experience: high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to see detail at near range, occasionally lift or carry objects of no more than 50 pounds, and perform various physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, and repetitive motions.

Working conditions are mostly performed in a retail store setting, with possible exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, hazards from moving equipment, and electrical shock. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.

Equipment used includes pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, forklift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, and fax.

Has daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.
