2nd Shift CNC Machinist

We are seeking dedicated CNC Machinists for our large machine shop located in Santa Ana, CA. This role is for the 2nd shift, running from 1:00pm to 9:30pm. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes, mills, manual machines, and inspection equipment for production jobs efficiently to support a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain and update setup procedures for critical processes.
• Work from blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to maintain close tolerances.
• Use computer skills to transfer programs to various CNC machines.
• Inspect parts to ensure they meet both dimensional and visual requirements.
• Complete all required documentation, including part measurements and shop floor paperwork.
• Train and mentor less experienced machinists, particularly in machine setup.
• Operate more than one machine when cycle time permits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills, particularly with experience on Brother, Haas, and Mazak machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tooling instructions.
• Strong computer skills for transferring CNC programs.
• Experience in inspecting parts using calipers and micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Familiarity with measuring tools and ability to perform light setups.
• Experience in writing or editing machine programs is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a large machine shop with approximately 50 staff members. The company operates in three separate buildings dedicated to different production processes. The role is for the 2nd shift, from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, with the option to work overtime.

This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
