CNC Machinist

Trillium Professional is now seeking CNC Machinists in Pomona!

The General Machinist II is an apprentice-level position responsible for setting up and operating both CNC and manual machine tools to produce or repair precision metal parts, components, and assemblies. Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Lead and/or Manufacturing Supervisor, this position works from blueprints, sketches, or technical drawings to machine parts to specified dimensions and tolerances.

Essential Job Duties:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and presses.
• Operate CNC and manual machines to perform precision machining operations.
• Work to specified dimensions and tolerances as defined in blueprints and work instructions.
• Verify product dimensions for accuracy and conformance using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
• Monitor feed and speed during the machining process to ensure product quality.
• Edit and write simple CNC programs as needed for both FANUC and HAAS controls (preferred).
• Identify and diagnose machine malfunctions, performing adjustments or basic repairs as needed.
• Separate scrap materials for recycling or disposal.
• Scan and record all job activity through the Made2Manage (M2M) system.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Report deviations or out-of-tolerance conditions to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Assist with continuous improvement efforts in machining efficiency and process quality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay rate is $28/hour.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
• Minimum one (1) year of machine shop experience REQUIRED
• CNC and manual machining experience REQUIRED
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings REQUIRED
• Experience with FANUC and/or HAAS controls PREFERRED
• Ability to edit and write short CNC programs REQUIRED
• Completion of a technical trade school or apprenticeship PREFERRED
• Must have strong knowledge of shop math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry).
• Proficient in precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
