Work Arrangement: Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Charlotte Technical Center in Charlotte, NC on a full-time basis.

The Team

The Motorsports Vehicle Dynamics XiL Engineering Team leads the development and implementation of the Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) Simulator program for GM Motorsports. Our focus is on advancing simulation capabilities that support vehicle development and driver performance. Key areas of work include:

• Enhancing driver immersion for realistic simulation experiences
• Integrating vehicle models and real-world data into the simulator
• Developing and deploying next-generation simulation technologies

This team operates at the intersection of motorsports, engineering innovation, and cutting-edge simulation providing critical tools to support competitive success on the track.

What You'll Do

During the summer internship students will take on projects supporting the Driver-in-the-Loop Simulator program at Charlotte Tech Center.

Projects may include:

• Implementing new hardware systems, including cockpit upgrades and driver immersion enhancements
• Analyzing and correlating simulator performance with real-world track data
• Developing scripts to automate DiL processes
• Enhancing network infrastructure, improving data storage solutions, and supporting documentation efforts

Required Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2028
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
