Youth Ministry Director – Fort Riley, Kansas

We are looking for a Youth Ministry Director to lead and oversee the overall Young Life Military program, known as Club Beyond, at Fort Riley. The role requires living within the community and working closely with military families, chaplains, and local youth.

Overview

There are nearly 300,000 teenagers of active‑duty U.S. military parents worldwide. These teens move an average of seven times during their school‑aged years, facing challenges around identity and belonging. This position is a critical opportunity to provide safe spaces, build friendships, foster hope, and develop resiliency for these military teens.

Responsibilities

• Develop healthy relationships with adults, kids, the local community, the military installation, and the chapel community.
• Act as a role model (incarnational) and develop community outreach to unchurched teens and discipleship programs for Christian teens.
• Lead and equip volunteers to run hands‑on middle and high school Christian youth programs.
• Adapt to high turnover among teens, families, chaplains, and volunteers due to military operational tempo.
• Embrace a military culture and model the Club Beyond Core Value Statement.
• Live within the community where ministry is conducted.

Qualifications

• Deep love for Christ and lost teens.
• Strong communication skills with youth, parents, and senior military leaders.
• Teachable and willing to commit to a three‑year tenure.
• Preferred: minimum three years of youth ministry experience.
• College degree preferred.
• Ability to raise part of the budget through personal support.
• Committed to a relational ministry approach and energetic.
• Small‑event planning skills and strong initiative.
• Will live in the community near the ministry site.
