X-Ray and CT Imaging Technologist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Radiology, Regional, and/or Site Manager.
• Arrange patients for radiological and/or DEXA examinations.
• Produce radiographs to assist in diagnosing medical issues.
• Ensure the safety of patients by preventing unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Set up and operate necessary diagnostic equipment for exams in general diagnostic and fluoroscopy areas.
• Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines while performing job functions.
• Exhibit a degree of creativity and latitude in your work.
• Demonstrate competency in skills relevant to customer populations and departmental services, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Utilize equipment and devices to maintain a functional, effective, and safe environment.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Effectively communicate with physicians, patients, and the public to build positive relationships.
• Have knowledge of commonly used concepts and procedures for CT.
• Start IVs for CT exams when applicable.
• Assist the technologist with patient throughput, exam setups, and injection materials.
• Observe and learn CT procedures for patient screening, table setup, positioning, and exam selection as directed by the technologist.
• Enroll in the Pulse Radiology CT Cross-Training course within 1 year of employment.
• Be willing to move sites to gain required CT procedures to qualify for the CT Registry.
• Complete the CT Registry within 2 years of starting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• High School Diploma.
• Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program from an AMA-approved school.

License/Certification:

• Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the A.R.R.T. is required.
• State certification as a Radiologic Technologist is also required.
• Valid CPR certification is necessary.

Experience:

• Preferred 3 years of experience in Radiological Imaging.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position may involve lifting up to 40 pounds and requires sitting for extended periods, frequently standing and walking. Good vision and hearing, manual dexterity, and clear communication are essential. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

DRESS ATTIRE: Ceil blue or pink scrubs according to departmental requirements.
