Wound Care Specialist

Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for Wound Center

We are currently hiring for a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for our Wound Center at UPMC Divine Providence in Williamsport. This is a salaried Wound Care Specialist position with scheduled hours, dayshift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with no weekends or major holidays. Responsibilities:

• Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment.
• Formulate and communicate patient care plans, involving patients as partners.
• Address clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual patient issues.
• Provide follow-up care for patients post-discharge.
• Use evidence-based practices in patient care.
• Evaluate and recommend products for cost-effective patient care.
• Document patient care to ensure clear communication among caregivers.
• Build and maintain healthy workplace relationships.
• Prevent and address workplace issues like horizontal violence and impairment.
• Balance work and personal life through prioritization and delegation.
• Mentor and support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues.
• Share research and conduct in-services to promote continuous learning.
• Identify and implement opportunities for clinical and workplace improvement.
• Incorporate professional and organizational goals to improve patient outcomes.
• Create compassionate patient experiences by building healing relationships.
• Continuously seek feedback and improve professional practices.
• Serve as a role model and leader in clinical expertise and evidence-based practice.
• Participate in shared governance and hospital-wide councils.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience
• BSN preferred
• Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required. Special skills and abilities required.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physician, non-physician providers.
• Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple and changing priorities.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in practicing state or eligible for (Pennsylvania) State Board Licensure. Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
