WordPress Developer

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to design, build, and maintain our corporate website and internal web applications. This role focuses on developing secure, scalable, and user-friendly WordPress solutions that align with our branding, compliance, and performance standards. The ideal candidate has experience with modern WordPress development practices, including custom themes, plugins, API integrations, and headless/decoupled WordPress setups.
This position collaborates with Marketing, IT, and other business units to ensure our digital presence supports both business goals and user needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites (public site + intranet)
• Build custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet business requirements
• Implement responsive design and accessibility best practices (WCAG/ADA compliance)
• Integrate WordPress with third-party systems (CRM, analytics, marketing automation, SSO)
• Manage WordPress hosting environments, security, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with Marketing to implement SEO, content, and design updates
• Troubleshoot and resolve site issues, including cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
• Monitor website performance, uptime, and analytics, providing actionable insights
• Stay current with WordPress core updates, plugin vulnerabilities, and modern development trends

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing in WordPress
• Proficient in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL
• Experience with WordPress REST API, Gutenberg editor, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
• Strong understanding of security best practices (SSL, role management, data protection)
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker preferred)
• Experience with SEO implementation and web performance optimization
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG/Section 508)
• Familiarity with headless WordPress and decoupled architecture is a plus
