Description

We are seeking a Wireless Test Automation Engineer with experience testing the performance of wireless devices in a lab environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with common wireless test equipment, ancillary lab connectors and cables, Linux platforms, and at least one wireless chipset. This role involves executing test plans, developing test setups, maintaining test environments, reporting test results clearly, and identifying unexpected results.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and execute test cases on wireless devices in lab and field environments.
• Identify automation opportunities, develop software to automate tests and reports.
• Maintain test equipment and infrastructure.
• Compile and report test results clearly to the team.

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of wireless communications fundamentals and at least one major standard (802.11 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with wireless test equipment (spectrum analyzer, packet sniffer, call box).
• Proficiency in Python programming and debugging.
• Willingness to work across multiple platforms including Linux, Windows, embedded systems, and mobile.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong understanding of 802.11 and Bluetooth standards.
• Experience with IP networking and LAN setup.
• Hands-on experience with wireless chipsets from leading manufacturers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The candidate will develop wireless automation infrastructure, automating test cases, Bluetooth technologies, Wi-Fi peer-to-peer, latency, scanning, power consumption, and sensor fusion. They will script mainly in Python or open C++, and work on device-to-device test beds. The role is onsite in Palo Alto, CA, with 3-4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, employee assistance, and PTO. Eligibility depends on employment status.
