Welder and Fitter

In this role, you will be responsible for performing setup on welders, including adjusting speeds and settings. You will use your proficient experience in reading complex drawings and decimal dimensions on blueprints to ensure quality assurance in accordance with customer specifications. The position involves assembling and welding a variety of sheet metal products with varying thicknesses and gauges, primarily using MIG for horizontal and downhill welding, with some minor TIG welding as needed. You will also weld a variety of wiring enclosures, boxes, or other special weldments required for production while observing good safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up welders, including adjusting speeds and settings.
• Read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints.
• Utilize various quality instruments to ensure compliance with blueprints and customer specifications.
• Assemble and weld sheet metal products of varying thicknesses and gauges.
• Perform MIG welding, mainly horizontal and downhill, with some minor TIG welding.
• Weld wiring enclosures, boxes, or other special weldments as required.
• Maintain good safety practices.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in job shop, fab shop, or manufacturing welding roles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complicated blueprints.
• Experience in MIG and TIG welding.
• Ability to measure angles and utilize quality instruments and tape measure down to 1/64 inch.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Combination of welding technical trade school and work experience.
• Experience with structural steel and sheet metal, aluminum is a plus.

Work Environment

This position offers multiple shift options: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday (with overtime starting at 5:00 am) and 10:30 pm - 7:00 am Monday through Friday (with overtime until 8:30 am and a 10% shift differential). Initial training will be conducted on the day shift for approximately 4-8 weeks. The work attire includes jeans or work pants and short or long-sleeved shirts, with steel-toed shoes required for safety. The facility can get hot during summer months, but provisions are available to help keep employees comfortable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50814.00 - $55895.00/yr. medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, and paid time off, along with perks like an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.
