Welder and Fabricator

We are seeking an experienced welder and fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and parts. This position requires expertise in MIG welding, blueprint reading, and fitting/fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Identify universal weld symbols and various materials.
• Set up and operate welding equipment.
• Layout, position, align, and fit components together.
• Read and interpret work specifications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics.
• Visually inspect completed welds to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Perform air arc gouging when removing welds or preparing weld joints.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Accurately cut, clean, de-burr, and prepare parts for welding.
• Utilize rigging and operate cranes/jibs.

Essential Skills

• 3-5+ years of MIG welding experience.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with fitting and fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable with spray arc welding and some metal-cored wire/flux core welding.
• Strong understanding of weld symbols.
• Experience in an industrial fabrication shop working with large-scale parts.

Work Environment

The work environment is a fabrication shop operating on a day shift from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime, if required, is typically scheduled at the start of the shift. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally to moving mechanical parts and high places. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
