Welder and Fabricator

Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will be responsible for welding custom stainless steel tanks of various sizes and shapes. You will excel in stainless steel welding, with a strong experience in high-cosmetic products, and demonstrate proficiency in full layout and blueprint reading. The role requires a balanced expertise in MIG and TIG welding processes, along with basic fabrication skills such as cutting pipes and using machinery like drill presses and band saws. Occasionally, you will polish down the welds to meet aesthetic standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Set up and operate welding equipment, adjusting voltage, amperage, and gas flow.
• Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, and make necessary repairs.
• Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet aesthetic requirements.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication process.

Essential Skills include:

• Expertise in MIG welding with experience in TIG welding being a plus.
• 2+ years of welding experience with a focus on stainless steel fabrication.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Physical ability to crawl, crouch, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications include:

• Completion of a vocational welding program or trade school is a plus.
• Familiarity with various types and grades of stainless steel.
• Prior fabrication experience, including cutting and using drill presses, shears, and band saws.

Work Environment

Our workshop environment focuses on creating custom stainless steel tanks for a range of industries, including fuel, food and water processing, and alcohol fermentation. Historically, we have produced stainless steel fermentation tanks for the wine and beer industries, as well as fuel tanks for airports and military use. You will be working alongside 15-20 other professionals on the production floor, in a space that is generally clean but has a presence of metal dust.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Spokane Valley, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
