About the Job

As a Technician in the Neurology department, you will be responsible for:

• Partnering with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures for consultations and recheck appointments
• Performing sterile scrub and assisting doctors throughout surgical procedures
• Performing anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubation of patients, monitoring patients, and troubleshooting machines
• Possessing a strong working knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications as well as normal patient vitals for awake, sedated and anesthetized patients
• Advocating for the patient and providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
• Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment

Schedule:

• Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

About You

• RVT license preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required with at least one year of experience in surgery and anesthesia
• Possess technical credibility related to veterinary medicine in surgery or neurology
• Must be proficient at adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing as well as computing rate, ratio and percent to accurately calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments
• Demonstrate analytic abilities to identify problems and analyze potential solutions by weighing relevance and accuracy of information
• Successful in working in a highly collaborative environment and committed to developing long term relationships with colleagues, clients and community
• Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in a busy environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to deliver exceptional client service
• Adaptable and resilient in the face of change
