Technician Manager

VCA Jones Road Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Technician Manager to join our team. This is a vital role in our hospital and works closely with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director to constantly build the practice and team. VCA Jones Road is an AAHA-Accredited, multi-doctor, fast pace practice in Houston, Texas offering excellent medical and customer service. The primary role of this position is to supervise the technical team which includes the Technician Assistants, Veterinary Assistants, RVTs.

The basic expectations for this position include but are not limited to the following: Under policy direction from the Hospital Manager with support of and input from Medical Director and Field Managers, the Technician Manager performs a wide range of difficult to complex administrative activities related to hospitals providing quality patient care and excellent client service, staffing and human resources, and discretionary activities that serve to support effective business operations. The position is primarily responsible for ensuring effective organization, leadership, and development of technical staff. Responsible for day to day administration of the hospital and clinical services responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Customer service. Human resource skill.

Good communication skills. Goal oriented. Background in managing service oriented operations. Ability to plan, organize, and effectively present ideas and concepts.

Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities. Models appropriate professional management conduct related to appearance, demeanor, work ethic, and adherence to the Core Values of SFVS and VCA.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma. Certified or Registered Technician status or equivalent practice experience of at least 3 years.
