The Brand Sales Support Specialist, also known as a Vendor Paid Merchandise Selling Support Colleague, is a product expert and assists customers with product selection, executes to merchandise standards, and maintains selling floor presentations for the brand or specific vendor they represent. You will support our customer-readiness standards by delivering a memorable customer experience and maintaining a neat, clean and organized shopping environment.

What you will do:

• Greet & connect with customers in a friendly and genuine way. Let them know we appreciate them and care about their experience
• Recommend product by asking questions to identify customer needs and inspiring purchases with newness and product that resonates with the customer
• Ensure fitting rooms are customer-ready by promptly clearing brand-specific merchandise and returning it to the appropriate area on the selling floor
• Maintain department recovery standards, including selling floor and fitting rooms
• Drive and exceed department goals by executing Macy's initiatives to actively drive the business
• Maintain communication with vendors and Managers for support on driving sales and event promotions
• Deliver optimal merchandise execution presentation, ensure accurate merchandise pricing, and process markdowns in a timely and accurate manner
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills you will need:

Product Knowledge: Good understanding of the products you are selling and be able to give expert guidance to customers based on their wants, features, and choices

Communication: Comfortable communicating with customers and peers

Adaptability: Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Continuous Learning: Self-driven to keep up with product knowledge and trends and stay current with all training through Macy's and vendor educational resources

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments

• Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors

• No Education or Experience Required

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform:

• This position requires constant moving, talking, hearing, lifting, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Reaching, including above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
