Position Purpose: The primary role of the Vendor Compliance Specialist is to enhance The Home Depot Compliance Program. This individual will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Compliance Program, responsible for analyzing compliance performance, pinpointing issues, manipulating data to derive conclusions, and formulating recommendations that support and strengthen the compliance program. Key duties include:
- Managing daily activities and reporting specific metrics to department heads.
- Being the main point of contact for IPR and Merchandising regarding vendor performance.
- Proactively engaging with vendors who need improvement in performance, providing them with best practices and strategies for enhancement while monitoring their progress.
- Collaborating across various business units and IT to establish requirements, implement changes, and manage the change process effectively.
- Utilizing strong analytical skills to dissect complex problems and develop quantitative solutions.
- Working with large, intricate data sets to draw meaningful insights and make informed recommendations, as well as streamline technical operations.
- Completing compliance program optimization projects accurately and in a timely manner, demonstrating the ability to self-initiate tasks with proper guidance from the Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- 40% Conducting thorough research to address escalated issues promptly. This may involve detailed analysis and collaboration with various internal Home Depot teams and IT. Reporting any necessary defect fixes or enhancement requirements as they arise.
- 20% Proactively reaching out to vendors to elevate compliance performance through various communication methods.
- 20% Analyzing vendor compliance data to identify gaps and provide actionable recommendations and solutions.
- 20% Taking ownership of tasks and projects related to compliance processes and system improvements.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to a Manager or Senior Manager.
- There are no direct reports associated with this role.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel is typically less than 10% of the time, requiring occasional overnight trips.
Physical Requirements:
- The majority of the time will involve sitting comfortably with frequent opportunities to move about. Occasionally, there may be a need to lift or move light items.
Working Conditions:
- This role is primarily located in a comfortable indoor environment, with infrequent exposure to any unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience with EDI/B2B systems is required.
- Previous retail experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A solid understanding of Supply Chain operations.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Access.
- Beginner to intermediate experience with SQL.
