Low Voltage Technician

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary.

Essential functions include: setting up and configuring various low voltage systems, running and terminating cables, performing regular maintenance checks, providing technical support, ensuring all installations and repairs adhere to regulations, and following all safety guidelines.

Physical activities include: communicating effectively, grasping and manipulating objects, moving up and down ladders and stairs, observing behavior, operating motor vehicles and large power equipment, sitting for long periods, squatting, kneeling, or crawling for extended periods of time, visually inspecting equipment, and presenting information to groups and individuals.

Travel is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position, including traveling domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.

Work environment includes: moving through narrow, confined spaces.

Minimum qualifications include: high school diploma or equivalent, prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment, and prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

Preferred qualifications include: training or certification in low voltage systems, BICSI installer certification, CompTIA certifications for networking, manufacturer-specific certifications, NICET 1 & 2 fire alarm certification, OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training.
