Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer with a focus on Back-End development, you will architect and build secure, scalable, and resilient systems that process large datasets and power AI/ML-driven applications. Leveraging expertise in Java, Kubernetes, SQL, Kafka, BigQuery, and integrating with Computer Vision & Artificial Intelligence (CVAI) platforms, you will deliver robust solutions supporting next-generation business capabilities.

What You'll Do

Your main responsibilities include:

• Architect, design, and implement scalable, secure back-end services and APIs using Java.
• Develop, deploy, and manage microservices on Kubernetes.
• Design, optimize, and manage large-scale relational and analytical data models using SQL and BigQuery.
• Build and maintain real-time, secure data pipelines with Kafka.
• Integrate back-end services with AI/ML pipelines and CVAI systems.
• Implement robust security standards.
• Collaborate closely with UI Engineers, Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and CVAI teams.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Help foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization.
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Proven experience designing and managing large datasets.
• Strong background in building secure, scalable data pipelines.
• Experience integrating with AI/ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with MLOps, AI/ML lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
