Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems, including design computations, equipment selection, and fieldwork. You will collaborate with various disciplines to ensure completed, coordinated designs and review the work of others. The role requires on-site investigations and a strong understanding of current mechanical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  Design HVAC and plumbing systems, including load calculations, air and piping distribution, and equipment selection.

  Prepare design layouts and schematics for commercial and industrial mechanical systems.

  Conduct design reviews and correspond with clients, colleagues, owners, and contractors.

• n

  Perform fieldwork for design investigation and construction observation.

• n

  Collaborate with all disciplines to achieve a completed coordinated design.

• n

  Conduct on-site investigations to confirm existing conditions.

  n

• n

  Develop familiarity with current mechanical codes and standards.

• n

  Build relationships with personnel from other disciplines and manufacturing sales representatives.

  Prepare general and mechanical specifications.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Experience with Revit.

  n
n
• n

  Minimum of 2 years in Mechanical Design.

  n
n
• n

  Strong knowledge of engineering calculations.

  n
n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

n
• n

  Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  n

• n

  At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems.

• n

  Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit for producing construction documents for commercial building projects.

  n
n
• n

  Experience in healthcare or government-related projects is not required.

  n
n

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility and potential for overtime. The Columbus team consists of one electrical P.E., three mechanical P.E.s, and one contract professional, totaling five people, including the P.E.s. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment.
