Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in Oregon. This role begins on Nov 24, 2025, and features a flexible schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week. The Nurse Practitioner will handle acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent non-emergent conditions across all patient ages, using Meditech EHR to manage care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and infections.
• Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage (I&D), wound care, and abscess management.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
• Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for necessary patient referrals or transfers.
• Educate patients and families on follow-up care and the appropriate use of urgent care services.
• Maintain thorough electronic medical records and adhere to state regulations and hospital protocols.

Additional Information

• Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience with Meditech EHR preferred
• Previous experience in urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care settings is highly desirable.
• Strong adaptability and communication skills are essential.
