Job Summary

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will take on a crucial role in performing ultrasounds with professionalism and a strong focus on diagnostic accuracy. Your responsibilities will include:

• Utilizing cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound machine operation and embracing new technologies.
• Conducting a variety of ultrasound examinations while fostering ethical and supportive relationships with patients and staff.
• Upholding high medical ethics and demonstrating self-motivation for continuous learning in sonography.
• Exhibiting empathy and integrity when engaging with patients.
• Understanding cross-sectional anatomy and conducting yourself professionally, even in high-stress situations.
• Assisting with maintaining accreditation requirements as needed and coordinating workflows with healthcare team members.
• Supervising and training students and fellow sonographers when necessary.
• Reporting equipment service requests as needed.

In some locations, responsibilities may include echocardiography.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging, with a preferred minimum of one year of equivalent experience.
• Registration in at least one area of sonography is required (RDMS, RVT, or ARRT); registry preferred within two years of hiring.
• Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is needed if working in North Dakota.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within six weeks of employment.
• A valid driver's license and good driving record are required for outreach mobile services, which may involve occasional overnight stays.
