POSITION SUMMARY

As an Ultrasound Technician, you will provide high-quality ultrasound procedures in a respectful and efficient manner while maintaining a safe and clean environment for our patients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and current ARDMS accreditation.
• Registration in OB/GYN, Abdomen, and Breast, or Vascular is preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience:

• Minimum of two years of hospital experience preferred, but training is available for candidates with less experience.

Equipment and Skills Training:

• We provide training on specific equipment and processes used at Williamson Medical Center.

Physical Environment:

You will work in a multi-modality imaging department performing OB/GYN, Abdominal, Vascular, and Pediatric Imaging studies.

Physical Effort:

Candidates should be capable of performing various tasks, including:

• Manipulating and operating imaging equipment.
• Assisting in patient movement.
• Bending, twisting, and lifting at least 20 pounds.
• Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Making sound judgments in urgent situations.
• Demonstrating emotional stability in interactions with staff and patients.

Additionally, you should be willing to respond to after-hours and weekend calls for STAT, Urgent, and Routine studies, with a requirement to be available within 30 minutes for STAT procedures.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Verify patient identification and physician orders before conducting tests.
2. Communicate any quality concerns or opportunities for improvement.
3. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring proper coverage throughout their exam and transport.
4. Assist in other areas during downtime to maximize efficiency.
5. Check on patients waiting in hallways to ensure their comfort.
6. Follow proper procedures during biopsies to ensure safety and accuracy.
7. Exhibit leadership and teamwork in challenging situations.
8. Assist with patient transport according to established protocols.
9. Always prioritize patient safety while transporting.
10. Consistently perform high-quality studies in accordance with set standards.
11. Provide portable studies when it's necessary for patient care.
12. Utilize anatomical knowledge to accurately relay patient conditions to Radiologists.
