Trim Carpenter

We are seeking a versatile trim carpenter who excels in various carpentry tasks, including trim work and rough carpentry. The ideal candidate will be skilled in using power tools, proficient in selective demolition, and committed to adhering to company policies and OSHA guidelines. This role involves contributing from the initial conceptual development through to project completion.

Responsibilities

• Install interior and exterior trim, including baseboards, crown molding, window casings, and door frames
• Measure, cut, and fit wood and other materials with precision
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications
• Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless integration of finishes
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Repair or replace damaged trim and finish components as needed
• Ensure all work meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in English for effective communication and instruction comprehension.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to set and achieve goals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and blueprints.
• Proficiency in carpentry, framing, finish carpentry, and use of hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to stand, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Capability to safely operate sharp tools and power equipment.
• Experience working in diverse weather conditions and terrains.
• Possess manual dexterity, balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Physical strength, stamina, and balance to perform various job tasks.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull similar loads.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for up to eight hours daily while handling materials.

Work Environment

You will primarily work on commercial new builds, engaging in tasks ranging from trim, rough, and finish carpentry to assisting with pre-engineered metal structures. Flexibility is key, as projects are primarily based in Lincoln but may also occur in surrounding areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
